The Education State is building an education system that produces excellence and reduces the impact of disadvantage. It covers the whole life cycle of education, from early childhood, through to schools and into adulthood to improve academic, health and wellbeing outcomes for every student.
A central theme of the Education State is supporting happy, healthy and resilient kids. This includes targets for increasing resilience and adequate physical activity among students by 20%. These targets are reflected in the Public health and wellbeing outcomes framework.
To achieve the shared goals and priorities of the Education State and the Victorian public health and wellbeing plan 2015 – 2019, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Education and Training are aligning policies, workforces, resources and investment toward a collective effort on prevention and health promotion for children and young people.
