The Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Outcomes Framework will help us to monitor and report progress on our collective efforts to achieve both better health and wellbeing for all Victorians as well as for particular groups of people in Victoria.
The development of the Outcomes Framework was undertaken in three steps.
Step one involved a review of Australian and international population-level outcomes frameworks and reporting requirements to inform the Outcomes Framework. Key stakeholders from government and non-government organisations were also consulted at this stage.
Step two included road-testing a draft of the Outcomes Framework with non-government organisations that play a key role in improving health and wellbeing in Victoria. This road-test was undertaken via a workshop led by the Victorian Parliamentary Secretary for Health.
Step three saw the Outcomes Framework reviewed to ensure it is coherent, comprehensive and reflects a life course approach to health and wellbeing.
The final Outcomes Framework is aligned with the Department of Health and Human Services Outcomes Framework and brings together a comprehensive set of indicators from many data sources.
