For Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world, we need a long-term commitment to public health and wellbeing. The Victorian public health and wellbeing plan 2023–2027 (the plan) will be the fourth plan and the primary mechanism through which we work to achieve our whole- of- Victorian Government vision of 'a Victoria free of the avoidable burden of disease and injury, so that all Victorians can enjoy the highest attainable standards of health, wellbeing and participation at every age'.
This plan provides continuity for, and builds on, the 10 priorities of the previous plan with an increased focus on the need to reduce inequalities in health and wellbeing among our community. This will be achieved by continuing to direct action towards those who experience disproportionately poorer outcomes and higher burden of diseases.
Our networked public health system enables greater coordination at state, regional and local levels for collective action towards shared outcomes across the priorities of this plan.
