The Victorian Government is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all Victorians and the Victorian public health and wellbeing plan 2015–2019 outlines the priority areas for our collective attention.
Implementing the Victorian public health and wellbeing plan 2015–2019: taking action – the first two years summarises the major government initiatives that will contribute to improving health and wellbeing for all Victorians.
This includes major policies and reforms in family violence, Aboriginal health and wellbeing, mental health, and education, as well as more detailed actions for each of the priority areas of the plan:
- healthier eating and active living
- tobacco free living
- reducing harmful alcohol and drug use
- improving mental health
- preventing violence and injury
- improving sexual and reproductive health
- healthy and sustainable environments
- place-based approaches
- people-centred approaches.
The immediate steps set out in the Action Plan form the foundations for longer-term approaches to building a healthier Victoria.
